Does anyone know if there is a means to switch off DNIe on my LE32R74BDX?
Surely I cannot be the only one who feels that whilst viewing the DNIe demo that the left half (the one with it turned off) is better. I appreciate it is a brilliant and clever system, but sometimes i feel on certain programmes the image is better without it. .

Yes, I think there is a way to turn off the Dynamic Dimming, which I presume is the DNIe feature. The only way to do this is via the Engineer Service Menu. Personally I don't recommend messing about with this function (warranty void etc) and I don't have the info to hand.
Let me know if you really want to do this and I'll dig out the steps to do this. ------------ Yes please. that will be great. i would like to have a look in the menu but i will think very carelfully before adjusting any of the settings. Here's the steps - I haven't done this myself but made a note of it from another forum ages ago:
1. Make sure TV is in Stand-By mode.
2. From the remote-control, press INFO then MENU and then MUTE.
3. That should take you into the Service Menu (or whatever it's called).
4. Select OPTION TABLE and the select/change DYNAMIC DIMMING to "OFF"
I think that's about it.
p.s. there is also an option called "SHOP MODE" which some forum users have been turning off also.
Good Luck. ------------ Thanks.
i still have not tried this but i have found on some forums that "Movie" mode has DNIE switched off. In the manual it says "Selects the picture for comfortable display in a dark room.".
Also, in another forum it says "Game mode turns off picture processing features such as DNIe to ensure that the tv responds instantly to the signal, instead of processing it first."
does anyone have an opinion on whether this is true? i would love it if i had the option if switching DNie off. I think football would be better looking. ------------ Thanks.
