Default Enhancement?

So I finally did a search and found out why my TV-Out picture doesn't show properly (black and white and very squiggly) but when I went to try it with the settings, the N95 defaults to "Headset" and nothing happens. I tried going back to the Enhancements section and choosing "TV Out" but it doesn't seem to register, and Headset always appears. How can I get it back to it asking me what I wanted to do? Do I need to restore it to the factory settings (what exactly does that restore, exactly)? I have no idea when it started just jumping to Headset without even asking me if that's what I want to use.

My N95 automatically recognizes the tv out cable regardless of what is set to be default. I would think there is something wrong with the connector and the N95 thinks it is a headset that you are plugging in. Have you had any water damage? The Factory Default restores your N95 to Factory Default settings as it says. It won't delete your files but you need to do a backup first if you want to restore the apps you installed and your contacts and so forth.

No I've never damaged it. It has never recognized TV Out (or any other cable) alone though, I've always had to choose. I don't know why now it's acting like Headset is the default, when I had never chosen one. I chose TV Out now and though it recognizes it because it lists it as the default, the icon is still headset and the picture doesn't show on the TV. sigh.

No picture shows for me if the icon isn't correct.. I did manage to get around my problem, by assigning the Headset enhancement to the Silent mode. So it recognized the TV-Out and it worked. Does anyone know how to make it ask me what to choose though? It used to work just dandy before when it let me choose what I needed.

everytime i plug something in, my n95 will always ask me what it is..

Mine used to to ask me too. I think that once you set a default there probably isn't a way to go back. It's missing an "Ask on connection?" option, like the USB mode has. This really bites...but I guess I'll live. Heh. Thx all.
