part broken in lcd replacement

hi frist post the n95 screen wont stay in the slot propperly after a replaceing the screen and acdently brakeing small gray bit of plastic that holds the end of the ribbon in place when the clip / bar comes down!! see img i was woundering how broken is my phone where can i find the part 2 do it my self or how mutch would it for some one to do it for me just for the labour and the small gray part not haveing to pay them for a new lcd screen as all reddy have a new one witch i could send them thanks dspro

It's a very delicate little click hinge so it is, if it's bust, it's not really a repair job, unless you have a very small glue gun and fancy using hot glue to glue it in the closed position. From what I've read you have to replace the whole hinge it's self. Hopefully there is someone on here who can point you to the hinge it's self. Worth calling up your local CPW to ask them for a rough price for them doing it.

See if you can get one from a computer supply store, they should have all kinda size in those.

exactly same happened to mine just put phone back together and took it back to shop i bought it from said display not working i got a replacement phone from them next day

This is a total bodge if you can't get the parts, but should work. I have the same connector for a laptop keyboard membrane and my brother broke it trying to fix the laptop. Anywho, I pushed ribbon home into the unclamped connector and it slightly held it in place, I then slid a piece of folded paper the same width into the connector on top of the ribbon and closed the clamp. Carefully rebuilt everything and HEY! this is what I am typing this reply on and that 'repair' was done in October 2007! Worth a punt me thinks.
